Why Am I A Republican?
I've noticed a lot of people that post to my blog, some students and teachers @ Dalton, and some students at Ridgeland either hate Bush and can't give me a reason why or ask me "why do you want to be apart of a political party who supports 'big business'". Well...I don't support everything that the Republicans do, but I don't think I can go along with a party that wants to spend my tax dollars on some guy that is too sorry to get a job. Who creates more jobs? Businesses or people on welfare? I'm for helping the poor, but I don't think it's the government. I don't expect the government to take care of me from cradle to grave...that's not the American Dream. I don't really see the Democratic Party in touch with main stream America. John Kerry...the most liberal senator absent from Congress. I just don't understand how people in the area where I live (who are probably conservative) can vote for a guy who has voted to decrease our intelligence funding even farther, vote against weapons systems that has made our military the most advanced military in the world, or who voted against funding troops and now complains how our troops are unprotected...why doesn't he blame himself first?
Another thing...Bush lied? Umm....excuse me...didn't Clinton, Madeline Albright, John Kerry, and the rest of the world presume that Hussein had WMDs? How could we be certain if he kept throwing the UN inspectors out of Iraq? Putin told Bush that Saddam had something planned...if that was true...should we have been attacked and allow thousands of innocent civilians die or destroy the threat?
No terrorism in Iraq? Abu Musab al-Zarqawi...does that name sound familiar? He was there before we invaded and he's there now. If we leave and he's alive...that will be a moral victory for him and al-Qada.
Osama bin Laden: If he is alive...we've bombed him so far back that he can only produce '80s quality audio tapes. We still want him...but either he's dead or he's basically retired in a cave somewhere...probably on a respirator. Zarqawi is running the show now.
Anyway...that probably had nothing to do with the original question...but why am I a Republican?
1.) John Kerry sucks
2.) John Edwards sucks
3.) The Republican party supports more of my viewpoints than the Democratic party
4.) Mikey Moore is a piece of crap
