A Worm in the Apple?

Could Apple having an increasing market share on mainstream computers make the prestigious fruit more vulnerable?

A post in Mays' blog made me think about this. Would hackers and virus coders try to exploit gullible users? First of all, I don't own a Mac, but I am a fan of Apple and Mac OS X. The UNIX core under the hood is solid and currently safe from major security threats, though there are about 2 floating out on the internet. But really think about this...if Apple begins to edge up on Microsoft's heels and have a 30-45% market share and continue to rise, black-hat hackers, crackers, spy-ware writers, and virus coders will try their best to rip apart exploits and bombard users with viruses and spyware. Of course....UNIX is a networking OS, so maybe it can withstand the barrage of exploits. We'll see.
