California Citing Chickens for Crossing the Road

How much more bass ackwards can this state be? A chicken, more specifially: the chicken's owner, was ticketed for his jay-walking chicken. A sergent for the sheriff's office said that chickens crossing the road has been a problem in the community and thought that a simple warning would not have resolved the problem.

Ok, let's think about this. Taxpayers are paying for officers to cite animals who jay-walk? What the crap?? First of all, there has to be something better to be doing than giving chickens tickets. If there's a chicken in the way of my car and he doesn't move..oh well...he'll be dead. That takes care of that. Why do I have the feeling that PETA might have a hand in on this to prevent 'preventable chicken car deaths'?

Idiots.

::UPDATE:: Sorry that I didn't post a link to the story. I just saw it..oh....7 hours later. Click here to read the chicken story.
