Iraq Liberation Act of 1998

To my liberal friends:

I just want you remind you all that the removal of Saddam Hussein has been part of the US policy towards Iraq since 1998, which was signed by President William Jefferson Clinton.

SEC. 3. SENSE OF THE CONGRESS REGARDING UNITED STATES POLICY TOWARD IRAQ.

It should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq and to promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime.

Now, President Clinton said in a statement when he signed the Act into law:

My Administration has pursued, and will continue to pursue, these objectives through active application of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The evidence is overwhelming that such changes will not happen under the current Iraq leadership.

Ok, so the UN failed us. They continually passed resolutions and never enforced them. What good is a resolution if you do not do anything to make sure it is carried out. Now, remember...this is the same Saddam who tried to assassinate a US president and a man who gave $25,000 to the families of Palistinians who blew themselves up trying to kill Israelies.

One question, would you want Saddam back in power?
