The Truth About Violent Youth and Video Games

Finally, someone is starting to stand up against the media's idea that there is a correlation between violent video games and violent kids.

From GameRevolution.com

The whole concept is a lie manufactured, distributed and perpetuated by the media. Kids are not killing each other more frequently than they used to. In fact, it turns out the opposite is true.

That first graph is the overall violent crime rate, and we’re talking about youth violence here. So I found the data sorted by age, and it turns out that through 2002, youth homicide actually dropped across the board, the only increase being among adults. If I may quote directly from the D.O.J. report, “Recently, the offending rates for 14-17 year-olds reached the lowest levels ever recorded.”

The lowest levels ever recorded. In other words, the Playstation era has, in fact, produced the most non-violent kids ever.

actually, the per capita murder has probably increased. how, you ask? likewise (and no, this is not serious...and may not make any sense)

each kid who gets off his or her tushie to STOP playing play station and actually interacts with another human being is 10Xs more likely to kill than his/her peers from 2 decades ago.

there. i disproved it. and it was that easy.

Your information is misguiding. While kids may not be killing themselves, there is a definite increse in violance, and it is almost definitly caused by media violance, such as games like "Grand Theft Auto", music, and vidios that promote low morral and shows breaking laws as cool.
