G4 Puts The Final Bullet In TechTV

Welp...the dynasty of TechTV has ended. G4techTV has dropped 'tech' from it's name becoming, once again, G4TV. I must admit....1 year ago today I thought that a merger with G4 was a great thing....but now I stand corrected. Now you must be thinking, "why does someone care about a freakin' TV channel so much?" Well, to the outside observer it's just a 'TV channel', but to the fans it was....home. ZDTV/TechTV had a cult following behind it. It was *the* only channel dedicated to computers and technology. Patrick, Leo, Kate, Jim, Kevin, Martin, Scott, Michalea, Adam, Morgan, Megan, Dan a.k.a. Foo, Yoshi, Sarah, Prager, John C. Dvorak, Chris Pirillo, and the numerous other hosts that came and went through out the past 6 years made you feel part of a big family. I remember waiting for 9 pm to roll around for The Screen Savers to come on and it was a blast! Some people may think that watching a computer show for 1 hour is boring, but the show hosts (at first Kate and Leo, then Patrick and Leo after Kate moved to NYC) made the hour interesting and fun. I must say, TechTV started to choke out when they started to try and focus on a 'larger crowd', but they started something that created a huge fan based. Now G4 has alienated that base and the former hosts (with the exception of Adam, Morgan, Kevin, and Sarah...but I forsee Kevin and Sarah moving to better heights after their contract expires) are now on their diffrent paths. Leo has 2 shows on the weekend on KFI 640 AM in Los Angeles. Patrick Norton writes for C|Net, Jim Louderback is a editor for Ziff Davis Media, and John C. Dvorak is plotting his world domination and doing some tech commentary on the side. Dan "the Foo" Huard has started up his own tech commentary site, and Alex Albrecht is doing Dell commercials. I could go on, but I would just be rambling on incoherently.
